Hello, my name is…
Well folks, this has been long overdue, but I’m finally launching a new Web site for myself. The design may not be the prettiest, but I’ve never pretended to be the best graphic designer in the world either. I thought about turning to my colleague, friend and business partner Paul Riddick for some inspiration, but I figured I might as well just be proud of what I can do, and leave it at that.
So, I have all sorts of things I’ve been wanting to talk about, at least to store for my own amusement and posterity, regardless of whether anyone else gives a crap. I’ll use this space to talk about pretty much whatever’s on my mind, but expect to see a little philosophy, design/development-related business musings, some movie reviews, a little political ranting here and there, the usual blog stuff. If you like what you read, leave me a comment. If you don’t like what you read, leave me a comment. I don’t have a whole lot of ego about all of this
That’s all for now. I’ll be writing again soon!

Hey Paul!
The new design is lovely. Much better than your old design, in my opinion.
Are you using WordPress? If so, take a look at my list of favourite plugins. It’s a little out of date, but I still use most of them: http://www.jamieharrop.com/2007/11/21/my-new-wordpress-plugins/

Hey Jamie,
I’m glad you like the design. It’s different, and after four years, different is definitely better.
I am using WordPress. Actually, I need to include a credit for both WordPress and Coppermine on the site (I had to remove them from the actual designs, because the way they’re coded, they tend to break things, particularly Coppermine).
I’ll go through your list of plug-ins too. If anyone knows WordPress, it’s you!

If you’re going to use just three plugins from that list, use Threaded Comments, Subscribe to Comments (STC has almost become a staple for WordPress blogs. I feel lost on a blog without it) and WP-Notable because I’m sure some of your articles will be worthy of a few thousand visitors from StumbleUpon.
How did you find the WP integration? Nice and simple?

Ooh hello, this looks new, what’s this then? Mind if I stay a while?
Looks great Paul, can’t wait to see what you’ve got to say!

Hey there Chewy! Welcome to the club. I can’t wait to see what I have to say either. I can’t think of a good reason why you’d want to stay, but you’re more than welcome to do so
